Verge Works in Kent Town

This week the Grenfell St verge planting project finally got underway. NPSP Council staff removed the dolomite, replaced storm water pipes and spread loam over the 4 verges which form the pilot project. Although it was cold and wet on the day the works started many Grenfell St residents came out to see the works and to help with cutting back a plumbago bush we are hoping to retain.

Planting will take place in early May and then we will begin negotiations with Council about which verge area can be greened next.

Thanks to the Greening Adelaide Grassroots Grant and the support of NPSP Council this project will provide a template for future greening works in Kent Town.
