Community Garden August update

During July we planted the 3 wicking beds with salad greens (including some advanced lettuce donated by a Kent Town resident, thank you Mary) and peas and David finished construction on the wooden sides for the new rectangular bed and moved a cement and pebble trough that SA CWA had available.

At our meeting on August 2nd we filled the new bed and the trough and started the plantings. We now have asparagus, beans, silver beet, beetroot, fennel and more lettuce.

Our usual meeting on the first Sunday of each month has been changed for September as that is Fathers Day. Instead, we will meet on the last Sunday of August (30th) at 1:00pm at the garden.

If you’re interested, please come along to the SA CWA and have a look at what we are doing and maybe join in!
